Technically, the iPad2 physically looks finer and thinner than the original iPad.  And it is noticeable.  The new iPad2 is thinner and less wide.  It can also be said as lighter than the first one but only for a thin difference.  The striking innovations, if we can call it as such, are the two cameras built-in on the face of the tablet and on its rear.  But most of the technical descriptions of the iPad2 are reiterations of the first.

Longer Battery Life – Indeed, as promised by Apple, iPad2 runs longer than the other tablets because it has a longer battery life span of 10 hours.  An actual test was made on this, and it proved positive.  The iPad2 was used heavily and intensively with 3G and WiFi apps working in GarageBand and everything without plugging it into a socket for several days or five days to be exact, but still the tablet was alive with a battery power still up at thirty percent. During a normal video test, the iPad2 survived an amazing 10 hours and 26 minutes of playing non-stop playback while running MPEG4 video clip, WiFi on with a screen displaying 65% brightness.  That is a perfect delivery.

This can be an overstatement, but iPad2’s camera was placed there only as an afterthought.  It probably was not given top consideration by Apple.  Yes, most reviews said they are really bad but they are usable.  The iPad2 has two cameras, an HD lens at the back and a VGA cam at the front, both produces unsatisfying results.  However, they are not totally useless.  Although it is bit disappointing seeing the low quality applied to these cams, it can be said that, at least, Apple provided video calling on iPad2.  It has FaceTime app, the Photo Booth and new iMovie.  Good enough iPad has these apps, but it is really seriously deficient on this aspect.

Since iPad2 is considered a new product of the Apple, it came with an updated iOS 4.3 with improved running performance.  Being new, Apple added an AirPlay support and introduced 2 software applications, the GarageBand and iMovie and other add-ons.  The iPad2’s improved browser performance leveled that of the Xoom, the iPad2’s closest contender.  But surely, Apple has successfully gained speed and high browser performance with the new iOS of the new iPad2.  This is a big plus for this new tablet of Apple.  However, there is quite some flaws in here considering that Apple does not allow Flash to work on its platform. But it can be a good thing to be pondered upon by Apple.

The new features presented in iPad2 are noticeably fine, as well.  The added applicable software performs well, though not perfect.  With WiFi on, you can well use the FaceTime and Photo Booth, although the video calls are satisfying but the images on camera are not.  The GarageBand application is a breeze.  It has many options and it’s cool. The original iMovie software is amazing, as well. It can give iPad2 user an experience that is new but astounding.  While movie can be handy now, this software has more to over than plain viewing.  Its application can do more like editing, exporting, uploading and a lot more.  It’s simply amazing.
